Edna Richardson
Edna Richardson – Biography
I have been blessed to spend more than 38 years serving others through both healthcare and education. My career began as a Registered Nurse, but my passion for helping people eventually led me into education, where I have had the privilege of serving as a reading teacher, school counselor, assistant principal, principal, and Director of Career and Technical Education. Throughout every role, my focus has been on helping students, supporting educators, and creating opportunities that prepare young people for success in school, college, and the workforce.
I believe that strong leadership begins with building relationships, leading with integrity, and never losing sight of what is best for students. Over the years, I have gained experience in instructional leadership, workforce development, budget management, grant writing, professional development, and program planning. I enjoy collaborating with educators, business partners, and community leaders to create meaningful learning experiences that make a lasting impact.
Education has always been a lifelong passion of mine. I earned degrees in Nursing, Elementary Education, and School Counseling, along with my Alabama Educational Administrator certification. I am grateful for the opportunities I have had to serve on state advisory councils and work alongside outstanding educators across Alabama.
While I have been blessed to enjoy a fulfilling career, my greatest joy is my family. I cherish every moment spent with my wonderful husband, our two handsome sons, our beautiful daughter, our two amazing daughters-in-law, and, last but certainly not least, our two incredible grandsons. They are the heart of my life and my greatest blessings. My faith, my family, and my passion for serving others inspire me each day, and I am truly grateful for every opportunity to encourage, uplift, and make a positive difference in the lives of those around me.
