Mr. Burgess is Chief Executive Officer of SAGD. Mr. Burgess has been employed with SAGD since December 1992. Mr. Burgess was appointed the Chief Executive Officer of SAGD in January 2007. Mr. Burgess has the responsibility and authority of the general supervision, management and control of all day-to-day operations of the District. Mr. Burgess held the position of Chief Operations Officer for SAGD from November 1999 until December 2006. Mr. Burgess was responsible for planning, designing, and organizing the installation of new mains and services, coordination and supervision of system maintenance and operation as well as the supply, transmission, and distribution of natural gas. Prior to serving as the Chief Operations Officer, he held the position of Engineer’s Aide. Mr. Burgess performed administrative and technical support work functions associated with the District’s engineering department and natural gas operations. Mr. Burgess holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Industrial Technology. Mr. Burgess is Co-General Manager of LA Gas District. LA Gas District was formed as a joint action gas supply agency for the purpose of acquiring secure, reliable, competitively priced and adequate long-term supplies of gas for ultimate delivery to residential, commercial, institutional and industrial consumers in and around the areas served South Alabama Gas District for delivery to their customers and to other public entities. Mr. Burgess serves on the Alabama Natural Gas Association Advisory Committee, served as a Director for Alabama Natural Gas Association, and served as the President (2008-2009) of the Alabama Natural Gas Association. Mr. Burgess served as a Director of the American Public Gas Association and served as a Director for American Public Gas Association’s Insurance Group. Mr. Burgess is a board member of the Monroeville Monroe County Economic Development Authority and served as Chairman (2015-2017) of the Monroeville Monroe County Economic Development Authority. Mr. Burgess served as Director for Coastal Gateway Regional Economic Development Alliance. Mr. Burgess served as the president of the Monroeville Main Street Board of Directors. Mr. Burgess serves on the Conecuh County Industrial Development Board.

Drew, a fifth-generation sawmiller, has worked for and helped manage his family business, Harrigan Lumber Company, for the past 10 years. Drew also currently serves on the boards of the Monroeville/Monroe County Chamber of Commerce, the Southeastern Lumber Manufacturers Association, and the Harrigan Family Foundation. A native of Grove Hill and graduate of Auburn University, Drew currently resides in Monroeville with his wife, Hannah Grace, and 3 kids, Charlie (6), Susie (4), and Woods (1).

Shanna Taite is a Career Tech Counselor for Monroe County Public Schools and has been employed with the system for 10 years. Mrs. Taite has previously held roles in human resources, operations administration, and economic development. She is also co-owner of Taite Logging, which is based in Monroe County.

I am a Monroe County Alabama Native. Married to my first wife Brittany with 2 beautiful children John (9) and Palmer (5).  I have been the Manager at South Alabama Kubota for 12 years and look forward to the next 12.
